Okay, so I was in the mood for something a little off the wall today. I brought out the old Visual Discrimination album and put it on for a spin. I love this music sooooo much! This band features Jeff Banks before he joined up with Isaac Golub to do A Chorus of Disapproval. What an amazingly fast band. Tim Sawyer, the vocalist, sings with such reckless abandon that it's often hard to follow the lyrics, even with a lyric sheet in front of you! These guys were from Cypress, California, which is not far from where I grew up in Whittier. I used to head to Cypress every Friday after work to pick up some new vinyl at Bionic Records. I would blow at least half my paycheck at this place. There was a guy that worked there named Aron who would show whatever new stuff they had just received and I would usually buy it. He is one of the kids on the front cover of the "Brats in Battalions" album from the Adolescents. Aron is the kid with red hair. His older brother was friends with Rick Agnew and got them to pose for the cover in the flannel shirts holding toy rifles. Anyway, below is the link for the album. Enjoy!
