Bold @ Showcase, 9/30/06
After doing a little "creative" excuse-making, I went to see Bold at the Showcase Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 30. They only played two shows in California, with the first being the evening of the 29th in Santa Barbara. I didn't feel like driving all the way up there, so I had to come up with an alternative. Originally, I was supposed to go to a wedding in San Diego on Saturday, but I got out of it and went to the show instead. Bold played with Triple Threat, Internal Affairs, Knife Fight, and a couple of other bands. Lights Out was supposed to play, but cancelled for some reason. Highlights of the evening included Porcell himself coming out onstage during Triple Threat's set to sing "Straight Edge Revenge." He then played second guitar for Bold and took the mic during the encore to sing "Nailed to the X" for the last time. The band said that they would never play that song again, so I am glad I was there to see it. I took some pics at the show. Check them out to the right. The first and third pics ar Bold and the others are Triple Threat. These are the only bands I took pictures of because they were the only bands I cared about seeing that night. Let me know if you went to the show and how you liked it.
Labels: hardcore, music, punk, straight edge
